G-Suite Backup
There is a widespread misconception that data created and stored in G Suite does not need to be backed up. While Google certainly has you covered when it comes to any outages on their part, recovering data due to accidental or malicious deletion is your responsibility.

G Suite data is not invulnerable—without sufficient backup, companies stand to risk losing all of their files. Infinite Cloud Retention (ICR)
Backup snapshots are retained indefinitely, following the schedule denoted below:
• 3x daily backups are retained for 30 days
• Single Daily backups are kept after 30 days
• Weeklies are kept after 90 days
• A single monthly backup is kept for each month after 3 months then stored for selected retention period (currently indefinitely)
What Does a Licensed User Mean for Backup Services?
A licensed user in the context of our Microsoft 365 & G-Suite backup services refers to any individual user account with an active license that is covered by our backup solution. Each licensed user will have their primary mailbox, OneDrive, and Teams data protected.
In addition to individual user backups, our service also includes comprehensive backup coverage for SharePoint sites, Teams sites, and shared mailboxes. However, these additional resources do not count as individual licensed users; they are included as part of the broader backup solution for your organization’s collaborative data.
- SharePoint Sites: All document libraries, lists, and files stored in SharePoint Online will be backed up as part of your service.
- Teams Sites: Conversations, files, and channels within Microsoft Teams are also covered under our backup plan.
- Shared Mailboxes: Any shared mailboxes used for group communication (without an assigned user license) are automatically backed up and do not require additional licenses.
The licensed user pricing model is structured to ensure that all critical data associated with user accounts and collaborative resources is securely backed up and available for restore as needed. No extra costs are incurred for backing up non-user items like shared mailboxes, SharePoint, or Teams.
Policies
- All licenses in a pool purchased with a 12 month commitment subscription, including licenses added during the subscription term, will have the same co-termination date as the first license purchased in that pool.
- SaaS Protection licenses will be charged for all protected users with a SaaS Protection status of active, archived, or paused. Saas Protection licenses may also be charged based on usage that requires a license from the underlying domain provider (for example, shared mailboxes).
- All product use is subject to product fair use policies
